The Order of the Hop

An important IHGC tradition is linked to a decoration ceremony – carried out since 1957.  As stated in the Charter for Award of the Order of the Hop, the origin of this award goes back to the 14th century.

This award is now dedicated to people in hop production and the hop trade, in research, as well as to individuals from administrative bodies who have made great contributions to the hop industry. Every two years, during the congress ceremony, it is an opportunity to honour nominees with special respect.
